Parque das Nações has a privileged location – an area of 340 hctrs developed along 5 km of the river Tejo. One third of this area is green and benefits from unique infrastructures – such as the Oceanário, the Pavilhão Atlântico and the Pavilhão de Portugal. It is, therefore, an unique place. Camões Theatre

The programme of Companhia National de Bailado since 2003, the Camões Theatre is a reference in dance, and a guarantee of good performances.

Atlantic Pavilion

Discover the Atlantic Pavilion, the main stage of the Park.

This pavilion – the main stage of Nations' Park and the largest indoor multi-use hall in the country was designed by portuguese architect Regino Cruz, in association with Skidmore, Owing & Merril (SOM).

Discover the Pavilion of Knowledge
the space dedicated to scientific discovery in the Park.

The Pavilion of Knowledge – Ciência Viva, designed by the Portuguese architect Carrilho da Graça is an interactive science and technology museum. Its main objective is to stimulate scientific knowledge and promote scientific and technological culture among all citizens.

Orient Station

Discover the Orient Station, an architectural landmark of the Park.

Idealized by the Spanish arquitect Santiago Calatrava, Orient Station is the Portuguese railroad “jewel”. Concluded in 1998, it currently serves the Nations' Park.

St. Rafael and St. Gabriel Towers

Each tower measures 110 meters high, the tallest apartment building in Portugal.

The Marina Parque das Nações is an open door to the estuary of Tage of rare beauty. Reopened recently, it can receive up to 600 boats.

In Nation' Park, the Art is out in the streets, squares, gardens and underneath your feet. You can find urban works of art that some artists left in the Parque in Portal das Nações.

All the Park is green. About 500 previously existing trees in its lands are part of the green zones created by the Plan of Urbanization of Park EXPO.

The Nations' Park is a privileged stage for all kind of events - due to its surroundings and its infrastructures, such as Atlantic Pavilion, FIL, Camões Theatre, Pavilion of Knowledge, Oceanarium, Vasco da Gama Shopping Center or the Casino. Shows, concerts, animation and culture happen here throughout the year.

Lisbon Oceanarium

Discover the Lisbon Oceanarium, the giant aquarium of the Park.

Built with the purpose of drawing attention to the serious threat that hangs on the health of the oceans - pollution - this giant aquarium has been conceived by the American architect Peter Chermayeff.

Portugal Pavilion

Discover the Pavilion of Portugal and of the Park.

This Pavilion is a project of architects Alvaro Siza Vieira and Eduardo Souto de Moura, both distinguished Portuguese architects. The building´s characteristic feature resides in its entrance hall, an ample square covered by a hard cement roof. This roof is inspired in the shape of a sheet of paper between two bricks, as an opening of the pavilion to the city, lodging large-scale events.

FIL

Feira Internacional de Lisboa - FIL

Discover FIL, the International Fair of Lisbon, and the Exhibitions in the Park.

This Park of Exhibitions was conceived by Portuguese architects A. Barreiros Ferreira and A. França Dória. It hosts about 40 events annually.

Vasco da Gama Bridge

Discover Vasco da Gama bridge, the bridge to the Park.

Inaugurated in the 4th of April of 1998, Vasco da Gama bridge is named after Portuguese navigator Vasco da Gama, in the year when the 500 years of his arrival to India was commemorated. It is the longest bridge in Europe and the fourth in the world.

Vasco da Gama Tower is a 145 mtrs high tower, built in a steel structure. It is signed by Profabril e SOM (Profabril/Architecture Leonor Janeiro e SOM/Structures Nick Jackobs).

The element of water serves as an ornament and also plays as part of the sounds of Nations' Park. You will see, feel and hear water falling along the fountains spread through the Park. Cool down!

Fauna

Fauna

Discover the fauna of the Park.

The Vasco da Gama bridge crosses 400 hectares over the salt mines of Samouco. Partially abandoned for many years, they are an important area of nest building for some species of protected birds such as the Perna-Longa (Himantopus himantopus), Andorinha-do - Mar-Anã (Sterna aíbifrons) and Borrelho-the-Coleira-lnterrompida (Charadrius alexandrinus).
